水深415メートルから

＜スポット＞
約1.8万人が住む三重県尾鷲（おわせ）市。人口の約８割が住む中心市街地と、９つの浦（うら＝入り江のちいさな町）からなります。このコラムでは、尾鷲市およびその周辺にあるスポットを紹介していきます。

第１号は、尾鷲市古江町（ふるえちょう）にある「アクアステーション」です。夢古道おわせ支配人の伊東将志（いとうまさし）と、訪ねました。

The first is “Aqua Station” located in Owase City Furue Town. I visited with Masashi Ito, a manager of Yumekodo Owase.

＜アクアステーション＞

夢古道おわせのお風呂に用いる海洋深層水（かいようしんそうすい）は、水深415メートルから汲まれたもの。
Deep-ocean water,used at Yumekodo Owase,was pump up at the depth of 415m(=1,361 ft.).

アクアステーションに陸揚げされたのち、夢古道おわせへ届けられます。

熊野尾鷲道路を、三木里インターチェンジで降りて10分ほど。アクアステーションに到着するとチーフの原田さんが迎えてくれました。
Ten minutes from Mikisato Exit,we arrived at aqua station. Chief Harada welcomed us.

はじめに、海洋深層水の説明を聞かせてもらう。
「水深200メートル以下の海から汲んだ海水を“海洋深層水”といいます」

どうして、水深200メートル以下なんですか？

「太陽光が届かないとされるんですね。海洋深層水には、３つの特徴があって」

原田さんはパネルを指さし、説明を続けてくれた。

はじめに、低温安定性。一年を通して水温が13〜15℃ほどで安定している。
次に、富栄養性。硝酸塩やリン酸塩、いわゆる“ミネラル”が豊富に含まれている。これらは植物の成長に欠かせないもの。
そして、清浄性。地上の大気汚染に伴うダイオキシンや化学物質がきわめて少ない。

Chief harada explained Deep-ocean water has 3 characters.

Introduction, low temperature stability. The water temperature is stable at around 13 to 15 ° C throughout the year.
Next,eutrophication.Includes “minerals” abundantly. These are indispensable for the growth of plants.
And,purity. Deep-ocean water hardly includes Dioxins and chemical agent by .air pollution.

そもそも、海洋深層水にはじめて着目したのは、ハワイでした。1973年のオイルショックを機に、石油に依存しないエネルギー開発を目的として、1974年に研究開始。現在、産業利用の技術に関しては、日本が世界最先端とも言われます。

尾鷲では、賀田（かた）湾の沖合12.5キロメートルから汲んだ海洋深層水を、「原水/淡水/濃縮水/カルマグ水/高ナトリウム水」に加工。用途に合わせ、使い分けています。
この日は、活漁運搬車が「原水」の給水を行っていました。水揚げされた活魚の鮮度を、長く保つことができるそう。
また、夢古道では、保温性の高さからお風呂に「原水」を使用。ミストサウナには「淡水」を用いています。

Hawaii focused on deep ocean water in 1974.To develope energy independent of petroleum.

In Owase, deep sea water drawn from 12.5 km off the coast of Kata (Kata) is processed into “raw water / fresh water / concentrated water / Kalmag water / high sodium water”. It is used properly according to the purpose.
In Owase, deep-ocean water pumped up from Kata-bay, manufactured to 5 kinds of water.
At Yumekodo Owase,we use “raw water”in bath,“fresh water”in mist sauna.

その他にも、ボトルドウォーター（尾鷲名水株式会社さん）、塩づくり（株式会社モクモクしお学舎）、そして魚の養殖（三重県尾鷲栽培漁業センター）などに供給されています。
この日は、取水・送水の設備も見学させてもらいました。

左手に見えるのは、海水を陸揚げする取水ピット棟。そして右手、海洋深層水を送り出す送水ピット棟。

We also had tours of water intake and water supply facilities.
On the left,you can see the intake pit building that unloads the seawater. And on the right hand, the water pit wing building that delivers deep sea water.

階段を最深部まで降りると、原田さん。

「水深415メートルの取水口から、ときおり魚がまぎれこんできます。ほんとうに色々な魚がやってくるんだよ。これまでに、24種類の魚介類が陸揚げされました。海からのゲストを迎える部屋ということで、私らはここを“応接室”と呼んでいるんです（笑）」

When I got off the stairs to the deepest part, Ms. Harada said.
“Sometimes fish gets crowded from the water intake at a depth of 415 meters, and 24 kinds of fish are coming in.

実は、この日もゲストの姿が。

全長１メートル足らずのナヌカザメ。サメとは言っても、人に危害は加えません。伊東さんが近づくと、スイスイ寄ってきました。

Nanukazama shorter than 1 meter in length. Although it is a shark, no harm is added to people. When Ito approached, Switzerland came.

最後に。

アクアステーションのある古江町は、一年を通して温暖なところ。目立った観光スポットはありませんが、カモメ飛ぶ海辺。斜面に続く路地裏。ゆったりした時間。スマホを預けて、古江をぶらぶらしてみませんか。

Finally.

Furue town is mild throughout the year. The sea gulls flying seaside. The alley behind the slope. A relaxing time. Why don’t you walk around Furue?
